Course Outline:

The last fifteen years of film has been dominated by the Superhero movie. This course will focus on the work of DC and Marvel, and how they have impacted generations of fans. It will involve significant close film viewing and analysis of the Superhero genre. There will be also be an expectation to be part of regular group discussion and complete practical activities such as a You Tube film review making to show understanding.

Students taking this course need to be self-motivated and committed.

There is one internal NCEA assessment in this course which includes 3 Level 2 University Entrance literacy credits.

This course can be taken in combination with any other Year 11 media course.

Where Does It Lead:

Media Production 201, Film Production 301, Print Production 301, Broadcast Production 301. Tertiary studies at ARA NZ Broadcasting School, Video Post-production courses or other University Media/Film programmes. Careers in marketing, advertising & public relations.
