Colours and Merit Awards

Drama or Music
Students must have been significantly involved in drama or music groups and performances at school, and must have performed at a high standard.
Sport
A student must:
1. be a member of the top team/group in the year the award is made.
2. be an outstanding performer.
3. demonstrate the school tikanga be being respectful/whakamana, reliable/whakapono supportive/manaaki and resilient/manawaroa.

Service
Any student who has given at least 25 hours of voluntary unpaid time to serving others may qualify for an award. Service could include Peer Support or Year 10 camp leader, coaching or refereeing, doing work for an outside organisation such as the SPCA.
Academic Colours
To obtain Academic Colours you must gain a Level 2 NCEA Excellence certificate endorsement. If 80 or more Excellence credits are obtained in the year that you are studying NCEA level 2, you will receive an Elite Scholar award. Students that gain a Level 2 Merit certificate endorsement will gain a Merit award. The prizegiving will take place in March of the following year.
