Course Outline:

Skills covered are review writing, print design, photography, storytelling, production techniques and critical analysis using television, news and film as study texts.  Students will complete activities that include zines, stop-motion animation, photography and interviewing.

Media Production also develops skills which are useful in a wide variety of media careers. The course improves students’ self-confidence and their ability to organise their work, to keep to deadlines and to work as part of a team. 

Assessment:

Criterion-based, individual and group assessment of the media mentioned above, in the form of assignments and practical exercises.

Where Does It Lead:

JMEPb in Year 10 and 11MEDa and b  and Level 2 NCEA Media Production and NCEA Level 3 Media Production.
