Course Outline:

Geographers will explore Aotearoa New Zealand's dynamic natural environment (taiao) and make connections between landscape processes and how they impact the cultural world. They will learn key geographic skills and concepts that create a strong foundation for NCEA Level 2.

Some of the contexts we cover include: New Zealand's unique tectonic plate boundary, geographic skills and a range of natural disasters.

Where Does It Lead:

Geography 201, Geography 301, and tertiary study at university.

Aside from broadening your knowledge of the world, a passion for geography can lead to careers in the environmental science, urban planning, conservation. tourism, public service, data science, agriculture, property development, research, policy-making and education sectors.
