Course Outline:

Skills covered are review writing, print design, photography, storytelling, production techniques and critical analysis using television, news and film as study texts.  Students will complete activities that include zines, claymation, photography and interviewing.

Media Production also develops skills which are useful in a wide variety of media careers. The course improves students’ self-confidence and their ability to organise their work, to keep to deadlines and to work as part of a team. 

Assessment:

Criterion-based, individual and group assessment of the media mentioned above, in the form of assignments and practical exercises.

Where Does It Lead:

JMEPb in Year 10 and 11MEDa and b  and Level 2 NCEA Media Production and NCEA Level 3 Film, Print or Broadcasting Production.
