Course Outline:

Mātauranga Māori and Science B

Students will explore the concept of journeying (to and within Aotearoa), both in the past and the future through both Mātauranga Māori and Science. The Mātauranga Māori will include a 5 day camp run by Rangatahi Tumeke in the Caitlins, and a field trip to Tāwhki Project on Kaitorete.  The Science in this semester would be Physics (mechanics and radioactivity) and Astronomy.

Throughout this course, the Mātauranga Māori within School would be provided, if possible, by kaumātua or would be from resources provided for the School by manawhenua.

Where Does It Lead:

This course will equip students with the knowledge, confidence and skills to successfully continue with Senior Physics and Earth and Space Science courses at Lincoln High School. In conjunction with Mātauranga Māori and Science A, students will be equipped to succeed in any senior Science course at Lincoln High School

There is a huge need in Aotearoa for individuals who are able to confidently stand in te Ao Māori and the world of Science. The career options are extensive.
