Entry Recommendations:

This is an advanced course and students will need to be proficient at abstract and logical thinking. Therefore, strong mathematical ability, particularly in Algebra, is expected. 

Course Outline:

 This course aims to:

  • Develop an understanding of the functioning of electronic components
  • Ability to correctly construct an electronic circuit
  • Develop an understanding of programming languages and their use in designing robotic applications
  • Develop skills and techniques in organising, designing and managing resources involved in solving Electronic Technology problems
  • Develop team management and communication skills
  • Develop an understanding of the ethics involved in robotics and artificial intelligence
  • Build a robot and test that it is fit for the purpose
Assessment:

Assessment is by means of practical and written work, using a project-based approach. Students will be encouraged to enter their projects into competitions such as BrightSparks and 123Tech

Year 11 Electrical Technology or any Year 11 Digital Technologies Course
