  • Devising drama - scriptwriting and group scene creation
  • Developing body and movement techniques through theatresports games

Ākonga who wish to take Drama at Year 11 are strongly encouraged to study both Year 10 Drama courses, JDRAb and JDRAc.

Assessment:

Ākonga are encouraged to assess their own and other’s work using structured feedback.

Where Does It Lead:

Ākonga learn to relate to and work with others, develop critical and creative thinking skills while developing performance and communication skills in a range of dramatic contexts. Skills learnt can be applied to a range of subjects which require students to speak and perform confidently in front of an audience and clearly convey their ideas and thoughts to others. Ākonga can continue with Drama into the senior years, as Drama is a UE endorsed subject.
