Semester 2 is a practical course which includes:

  • Developing critical thinking and analytical skills when critiquing Professional theatre.
  • Developing scriptwriting and directing skills where ākonga finish the year directing their own scripts to a live audience.
  • Developing Team work and leadership skills, with participation in all activities expected.
Where Does It Lead:

Ākonga begin to develop higher level academic, technological, practical and life skills. The skills and attitudes learnt in Drama include working as a group, creative and critical thinking skills, self- management, confidence and communication skills. These can be used through and beyond the school career.

Ākonga can continue with Year 12 Drama where entry requirements are met or by negotiation with the HOD.
