Course Outline:
  • Health and safety (demonstrating safe practices in the workshop)
  • Accuracy, precision, marking out (basic measurements) and literacy
  • Planning, research, evaluating product, quality finishing
  • Evaluating individual performance
  • using hand tools, equipment and machinery
  • preparing cutting lists and orthographic drawings

 

This semester course focuses on the use of Hard Materials. Students construct a project and support this with written and visual evidence, using the technological process which is an important component of the course.  Detailed drawings, cutting lists, research, specifications and attributes, evaluating products, individual evaluations, and understanding stakeholders and stakeholder feedback as well as photographic evidence form an important part of their portfolio work and final overall assessment.
