Course Outline:

In this course, geographers explore the dynamic world of geography, studying costal processes within Canterbury, the global snakebite epidemic and other contemporary geographic issues. We gain insights into the environmental challenges and changes shaping our world today.

This is an approved subject for University Entrance. It includes 3 internal and 2 external Achievement Standards for NCEA. You can also gain reading and writing credits towards the University Entrance literacy requirements.

Tertiary study at university.

Aside from broadening your knowledge of the world and equipping you with transferrable skills for a range of professions, a passion for geography can lead to careers in the environmental science, urban planning, civil defence management, conservation, tourism, public service, data science, agriculture, property development, research, policy-making, resource management and education sectors.
