$5.00 linguascope subscription. $25.00 Education Perfect Subscription for two semesters or $15.00 for one semester. Costs for the day trip to Akaroa and the senior French day at University of Canterbury. Own headphones are strongly recommended.

Entry Recommendations:

Students are expected to have completed a whole year of French in Year 10 or discuss their suitability with the French teacher.

 

Course Outline:

The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are further developed. The first six levels of the Learning Languages Curriculum are covered or revised. Students learn to communicate in French in a range of practical situations, about self, town and region as well as reporting on events in the past and expressing hopes and plans for the future.  Although not assessed, intercultural aspects are integrated in the topics, raising students’ awareness and understanding of France and the French.

 

Where Does It Lead:

French Level 2 and 3. French is a university approved subject.
