Draws & Results  Canterbury Basketball

There are two basketball competitions on offer to students at Lincoln High School.

Tuesday Night - Premier Senior A and Junior A Teams  - Thomson Trophy & Grocott Trophy.
Friday Night - For those who want to play competitive or social games of basketball, without the commitment of trials and weekly team trainings 


Tuesday Night Information 

Senior A and Junior A Competition - run by Canterbury Basketball 

Senior A Boys  - Thomson Trophy

Time: 7.30pm 

Venue: Various schools across Christchurch

Cost: $290

If sports fees are owing from previous years, these will need to be cleared before playing sport in 2025

Bench: All players are expected to cover the bench for the Junior A Team home games

Uniform: Supplied by the school, LHS warm up top required $60.00

Equipment: Own indoor shoes and mouth guards compulsory

Transport: Own transport arrangements

Tournament: The team will attend two tournaments during the season; Rolleston Preseason and the SISS Tournament during Term 3 Week 7

Junior A Boys - Grocott Trophy

Time: 4.15pm or occasionally 5.45pm

Venue: Various schools across Christchurch

Cost: $175

If sports fees are owing from previous years, these will need to be cleared before playing sport in 2025

Uniform: Supplied by the school

Tournament: The team will attend the Rolleston PreSeason tournament

Gear: Own indoor shoes, mouth guards compulsory

Transport: Own transport arrangements

Friday Night Basketball

Dates:

Where: School gyms and Council facilities. This may include schools out of our district ie Kaiapoi and Rangiora

Draws: These are done weekly by School Sport Canterbury

Times:

Year 9: 4.00pm

Girls Junior Premier: 6.15pm or 7.30pm at Cowles, Parakiore, Pioneer Stadium or as the last game at a school. For this grade, a referee and two bench officials are required

Intermediate Grade: 5.00pm or 6.00pm

Open Grade: 6.00pm, 7.00pm or on occasion 8.00pm

Game Format: All grades, 2 x 25 minute running clock halves. Girls Junior Premier 4 x 10 minute stop clock quarters.

Cost: $155.00

Uniform: Supplied by the school. All uniforms must be returned at the end of the season. Unreturned items will be charged.

Gear: Own indoor shoes, mouth guards compulsory

Transport: Own transport arrangements

Referee and Bench: If you are playing a home game, you will be required to either referee and bench before or after your game.​ ​​​​​​Referees are paid $12.00 per game and bench officials $6.00 per game. This is paid into your bank account at the end of the season.

A parent/teacher must be named as a Manager and attend all games

Defaults or no shows will be charged $50.00 and teams can be removed from the competition.

If for some reason, there is not enough players for a team to be entered into the competition, students will receive a credit. If a student withdraws once the team has been entered into the competition, a credit of sports fees will be at the discretion of the Sports Department and an administration fee may be applied.​​​​​​​


​​​​​​​Please only register if you can commit to the 12 weeks as this is a team sport. We expect sick days but a high level of commitment and communication is expected.
