This course is a continuation of French - Part 1 (11FREa).  To do this course, 11FREb*, you need to have completed the semester one course, 11FREa as the learning from semester one is needed for semester two.

Course Outline:

The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are further developed. The first six levels of the Learning Languages Curriculum are covered or revised. Students learn to communicate in French in a range of practical situations, including leisure activities, health and wellbeing as well as reporting on events in the past and expressing hopes and plans for the future.  Although not assessed, intercultural aspects are integrated in the topics, raising students’ awareness and understanding of France and the French.

 

Where Does It Lead:

French 201. French language students have an advantage in employment involving travel and tourism. Language students have an advantage in careers demanding accuracy e.g. computer work, and in their ability to think clearly and write precisely.
