- Entry Requirements:
At least 12 NCEA Level 1 credits in Materials Technology (Metal or Wood) or by negotiation with the HOD. Class maximum 24.
It is not recommended to do more than one of MTM203, MTW203 or PDT201 courses.
- Course Outline:
This is a skills and theory-based course to challenge students through a variety of different wood projects. Students will be expected to focus on high quality hand skills in the achievement of set projects, working and interpreting drawings. Students will study the theory behind the tools, materials and processes. This course is assessed through Wood Trades ITO Unit Standards.
- Where Does It Lead:
Year 13 Materials Technology Advanced. Polytechnic courses in building-related trades and related employment opportunities e.g, joinery, furniture making, carpentry, cabinet making, boatbuilding etc.
