Entry Recommendations:

Open entry, but this course is suited to those with a strong interest in developing their interpersonal skills through a team environment in Physical Education.

Course Outline:

Students will learn and demonstrate interpersonal skills that are essential for team environments. Students will participate in a wide range of teams activities, challenges and competitions, exploring many key themes around preparation, performance improvement, tournament organisation, key relationships within a team as well as roles and responsibilities.

Following the sport education module, keys aspects will be team selection/draft, pre-season, competition and the awards function. The course features a mix of theory and practical lessons designed to prepare students to develop key skills leading into Year 12 and 13 Physical Education as well as Tertiary study.

There will be one NCEA Level 2 internal assessment in this course. Other assessments will consist of individual projects and group tasks.

This course can be taken in combination with any other Year 11 Physical Education, Health Education or Outdoor Education semester courses.
