Course Outline:

Level 1 Social Studies students will be able to explore global religions and be able to describe and identify key beliefs of various religions and traditions. Students will be able to demonstrate understandings of various religious practices.

The overall theme for 2020 is perspectives among religion. Students will plan and report on a religion of their choice.

There is one internal NCEA assessment in this course which includes 6 literacy credits.

This course can be taken in combination with any other Year 11 Social Studies semester course.

Where Does It Lead:

Social Studies 201 and 301, Tertiary studies involving (but not limited to) social work, society and policy, social and community services, public relations, religious studies and global studies.
