Time for some her-story? This course aims to introduce you to the central concepts in feminist theory and to apply these to the analyses of literary texts. We will study a selection of novels, film, short stories, song lyrics and poetry that focus on women’s lives and reflect on the presentation and positioning of females from various gendered, racial, socio-economic, and national perspectives. There will be a certain amount of flexibility in the course structure depending on your interests as we pull from a variety of both external and internal English Achievement Standards.
This course includes 3 internal and 2 external Achievement Standards.
