Course Outline:

Psychology is the scientific study of human thought, emotions and actions.  Not only does it help us to understand human behaviour, but learning in Psychology provides a strong foundation for other career areas such as mental health, education, training, marketing, leadership, management, business, law and politics.

Focus will be on the approaches to Psychology and the ethical considerations that underlies the field.  We will consider personal well-being and the key debate of nurture vs nature as we go through the semester.

This course offers a combination of theory and practical work. 

There is one internal NCEA assessment in this course which includes 6 literacy credits.
