Note: Students selecting Film Production 301 or Broadcast Production 301 are unable to do this course due to a clash of achievement standards.
- Course Outline:
Students in this course will be responsible for the planning, production & management of a print magazine of their design. This will involve the publication of several issues. Students will need to have a passion for journalism and design, be self-starters and have strong collaboration skills. This course will help develop transferrable skills such as communication, time-management, people management and problem-solving.
Typical areas of learning will include:
- Magazine conception & pitching
- Article writing
- Layout & design
There will also be an opportunity for students to visit ARA New Zealand Broadcasting School to discuss the journalism stream.
14 NCEA Level 3 credits are available through 10 internal credits and 4 external credits. There is also the possibility for an optional 3 credit internal assessment if required.
