Entry Requirements:

Open entry. Students taking this course may not enter into PED301 or SPC303.  Students taking this course may enter FIT301, but need to be aware there is an overlap of 4 credits.

Course Outline:

This course is for students who are interested in exploring different areas of physical activity. Students will get the opportunity to participate in and learn about a range of roles in physical activity including injury prevention, coaching, and performance improvement.

The following standards are being considered for this course:

AS91501  (3.4) Demonstrate quality performance  of a physical activity in an applied setting.

US20673   Demonstrate knowledge of injury prevention and risk and injury management in sport and recreation.

US27557   Behave according to organisational  requirements.

US22771   Plan a beginner level coaching session for sport participants

US22768  Conduct and review a beginner level coaching session

 

 

Where Does It Lead:

This course leads to a range of tertiary study in the sports and fitness industry at certificate or diploma level. Any students wanting to study at Bachelors level should enrol in PED301.
