- Approx Cost:
- $35.00 plus cost of personal materials like printing photos (note this is dependent on student needs). Students are expected to provide their own digital SLR camera and buy a student licence to Adobe Creative Cloud. Photography is approximately $120.00 or A.C.C. Complete is approximately $180.00 for 1 year to use on a personal computer or laptop.

- Entry Requirements:
Minimum of 20 credits from PAR201 or a minimum of 20 credits from PGD201 (or at the discretion of the HOD). It is important to note that for those wishing to apply for entry to one of the many tertiary schools of Art and Design, candidates will be required to enrol in two of the following Art subjects:
- DES301 Design.
- PAI301 Painting.
- PHO301 Photography.
- PRI301 Printmaking.
- SCU301 Sculpture.
Note: Only two NCEA Level 3 Art subjects may be taken in any one year due to workload issues, unless special recommendation is given by the HOLA.
- Course Outline:
Students will gain knowledge of photographic conventions proceedings and methods. Students present a photographic study to show their understanding of photography as an edited sequence of work.
Internal Achievement Standards:
3.2 Use drawing to demonstrate understanding of conventions appropriate to photography, 4 credits.
3.3 Systematically clarify ideas using drawing informed by established photography practice, 4 credits.
External Achievement Standards:
Folio Three panel A1 Folio sent to Wellington for external assessment.
3.4 Produce a systematic body of work that integrates conventions and regenerates ideas within art photography practice, 14 credits.
The research standard for this course is an optional 4 credits and is recommended for students entering Scholarship Photography.

Entry into schools of Fine Art and other tertiary institutions. To a greater understanding of procedures and practices which underpin art and design.
