- $35.00. A suitable Digital SLR camera is strongly recommended for this course. Only 3 school digital SLR cameras are available for hire at a cost of $25.00. Both Design and Photography require digital applications to facilitate learning. This requires students to have access to student Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions for approximately $180 per year. The school has 10 student licences to use on machines at school.

- Course Outline:
This course is intended for students who wish to investigate Graphic Design and Photography. Half the year is dedicated to the study of Photography whilst the other half is dedicated to the study of Design, which is assessed as an A1 external folio.
Students study photography by engaging in research and photography studies. Design study includes basic design principles and introduction to computer graphics and other design techniques.
2.1 Photography: Demonstrate an understanding of methods and ideas from established practice appropriate to photography, 4 credits.
2.2 Photography: Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to photography, 4 credits.
2.4 Design: Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art-making conventions and ideas within design, 12 credits. External Folio.
- Where Does It Lead:
This course will provide a sound basis for further study at Year 13, and beyond, at any of the schools of art and architecture, animation, craft/design, film, television and photography courses.
