Open entry, but this course is suited to those with a strong interest in learning through movement in Physical Education.
- Course Outline:
Students who select this course should have genuine enthusiasm for learning in, through and about movement. The course has an emphasis on participation, challenge, personal development interpersonal skills and how physical activity impacts wellbeing and attitude towards movement.
These concepts are explored in a practical way through a variety of physical and sporting contexts, supported by classroom discussion and assignment work. Whilst this course does provide robust academic challenge, those students who wish to explore biophysical principles and socio-cultural perspectives in more depth should select Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and Back to the Future
There will be one internal NCEA assessment in this course. Other assessments will consist of individual projects and group tasks.
This course can be taken in combination with any other Year 11 Physical Education, Health Education or Outdoor Education semester courses.
