Open entry, but this course is suited to those with a strong interest in learning through movement in Physical Education.

Course Outline:

Students who select this course should have genuine learning for in, through and about movement. This course is divided into two distinct parts:

Participation and Attitude within Physical Activity

The course has an emphasis on active participation and involvement in a range of physical activities.

Students' attitude to physical activities will also be explored. These concepts are explored in a practical way through a variety of physical and sporting team contexts, supported by reflections, classroom discussion and assignment work.

Demonstration of Interpersonal Skills within a Team Environment

Students will demonstrate interpersonal skills that are essential of team environments. Students will participate in a wide range of team activities, challenges and competitions exploring many themes around preparation, performance improvement, tournament organization as well as the different roles and responsibilities.

The course will generally consist of 2 periods in the classroom and 2 practical lessons.

Those students who wish to explore biophysical principles and socio-cultural perspectives in more depth should select Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and Back to the Future.

This course can be taken in combination with any other Year 11 Physical Education, Health Education or Outdoor Education semester courses.

Assessment:

Assessments will consist of three assignments.
