Course Outline:

This course is a continuation of Music - Part 1 (10MUSa).  To do this course, 10MUSb*, you need to have completed the semester one course, 10MUSa as the learning from semester one is needed for semester two.

Units include:

  • Performance (group and solo).
  • Composition & songwriting.
  • Music theory and listening skills.
  • Music technology (recording software).
  • Music history & genres.
Assessment:

Practicals, theory tests and assignment-based assessment in the above areas.

Where Does It Lead:

This course is strongly recommended for students intending to continue studying Music into Year 11 and beyond, as the foundational skills for these years are learned in Year 10.

However, all students who have an interest in aspects of playing and studying music will find this course rewarding, and can expect to learn transferrable skills such as time management and self-motivation, confidence performing & speaking in public, and collaborating with others.
