- Entry Requirements:
Students need 16 credits or better in NCRA Level 2 Materials Technology (either Wood, Metal or Product Design Technology) or by negotiation with the HOD.

This course will run dependent on numbers.
- Course Outline:
This course will use a mixture of unit standards from either Construction or Engineering trades. The projects in the course are around building team projects as a group rather than individual projects from previous years. Students will need to work as a team and manage their collective time to complete the tasks while developing further skills as they combine individual components together.
- Where Does It Lead:
Polytechnic courses in material related trades and related employment opportunities in the engineering industry e.g. Filter, turner, welder, engineer, blacksmith, sheet metal, fabricator, plastic engineering etc.
Building related trades and related employment opportunities in building e.g. joinery, furniture making, carpentry, cabinet maker, boatbuilding etc.
