Course Outline:

Year 9 Health & Physical Education provides learners with rich opportunities to move and be active in a variety of physical context, and explore health-related topics that are relevant to young people's lives. 

Our Lincoln High School tikanga form four broad themes for learning (Let's be Supportive, Let's be Reliable, Let's be Respectful, Let's be Resilient), and content covered within these themes include

  • Personal identity
  • Invasion games
  • Cultural games
  • Relationship and Sexuality Education
  • Keeping ourselves safe
  • Creative Movement
  • Net and wall games
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Water based activities
  • Striking and fielding activities



Progress is measured using a variety of assessment modes in both practical and theoretical contexts.  Assessment aligns with objectives at Level 4 of the New Zealand Curriculum.
