Course Outline:

This is the first semester of a Year 10 is a full year course that allows students to pursue the full range of Visual Arts disciplines. New techniques and in-depth investigations of particular artmaking methods and ideas are explored.  Students’ critical thinking and creative abilities are fostered through student directed projects. 

Projects include:

Photography

Screen-print T-shirt Design.

Sculpture.

Printmaking.

Painting.

A variety of creative projects.

Note: Only one Visual Arts course may be taken in in Y10 either as a full year (2 linked semester course) or the standalone 1 semester course.

Assessment:

Assessment is by means of presentation of practical work, peer critique and self-review.  

Where Does It Lead:

Year 11 Visual Arts (11ART) and to specialist courses in Years 12 and 13. Art also opens up opportunities in a huge range of creative enterprises, including animation, photography, architecture, film, design, etc.
