School Uniform Requirements
The uniform is compulsory for all students from Year 9 to Year 12. Year
13 students have the option of wearing appropriate mufti. There is a summer
uniform and a winter uniform. Either complete uniform may be worn at any
time of the year. Students are expected to wear the correct school uniform
to and from school. It is not acceptable to wear trainers and change them at
school.
Parents/Caregivers are encouraged to actively supervise the wearing of
school uniform and to encourage the highest personal standards in dress.
Used Uniforms: The PTA Uniform Shop is open during the term on the first
and third Wednesday of each month from 12.30 to 1.30pm.
Lincoln High School Uniform Alternatives
Summer Boys - Boys' shorts, polo shirt with Lincoln High School
monogram, fawn socks, polar fleece, polar fleece vest or jersey.
Winter Boys - Boys' trousers, long sleeved white shirt or polo shirt with
school monogram, black or fawn socks, polar fleece, polar fleece vest or
jersey.
Summer Girls - Girls' shorts or skirt, short sleeved blouse with school
monogram, white socks, polar fleece, polar fleece vest, jersey or cardigan.
Winter Girls - Girls' trousers or kilt, long or short sleeved blouse with
school monogram, white socks or black or fawn tights, polar fleece, polar
fleece vest, jersey or cardigan.
Optional - Polar fleece jacket, green and black anorak, blazer, tie,
scarf, sunhat.
Undershirts - Plain white polyprops or T-shirts. Long sleeved undershirts
must not be worn under short sleeved shirts.
Regulation Uniform Specifications
Boys:
Shorts - Lincoln green polyester cotton.
Trousers - Regulation mid-grey straight-legged long trousers.
Polo shirt - White short-sleeved with school monogram.
Shirt - White long-sleeved cotton polyester shirt (button to neck) with
school monogram.
Socks - Black or fawn with trousers; fawn knee-length with shorts.
Shoes - Black or brown leather lace-up traditional school shoes with black
or brown laces, rounded toe, and heels no higher than 5cm and with no
decorations or adornments.
Girls:
Skirt - Lincoln green polyester cotton skirt with a box-pleat styled to
be worn on the hips.
Shorts - Tailored Lincoln green polyester cotton.
Trousers - Mid-grey straight-legged long trousers (two styles) worn with
black socks.
Kilt - Hunting MacFarlane Tartan kilt, knee-length or longer but no longer
than 15cm above the ground.
Blouse - White, short or long-sleeved tailored blouse with Lincoln High
School monogram, designed to be worn out and straight around the hem with
two splits front and back.
Socks - White socks worn with skirt, shorts or kilts, black socks worn with
trousers.
Tights - Fawn/Black 50 denier or wool, only worn with kilts.
Shoes - Black leather lace-up traditional school shoes with rounded toe, and
heels no higher than 5cm with no decoration or adornments OR Black leather
low heeled shoes with one strap across the top of the foot OR Black leather
low heeled T bar shoes.
Cardigan - Lincoln green regulation V necked cardigan. Hand-knitted
cardigans are not permitted.
Unisex Items:
Jersey - Lincoln green regulation V-necked jersey. Hand knitted jerseys
are not permitted.
Blazer - Lincoln green blazer, with Lincoln High School monogram.
Tie - Red tie which can be worn with the white cotton polyester long-sleeved
boys' shirt and girls' long-sleeved blouse.
Anorak - Regulation green and black with Lincoln High School monogram.
Jacket - Green polar fleece with red trim and Lincoln High School monogram.
Vest - Straight back green polar fleece with red trim and Lincoln High
School monogram.
Scarf - Tomato red and Lincoln green regulation striped scarf.
Sunhat - Lincoln green regulation LHS sun cap or a Lincoln green regulation
wide brimmed or bucket sun hat.
Physical Education and Sports Uniform:
Shorts - Plain black shorts.
Track pants - Plain black track pants.
Polo Shirt - Regulation green Physical Education shirt with Lincoln High
School monogram.
Shoes - Soft-soled (non-marking) sports shoes.
Year 13 Mufti:
Mufti of a neat appearance approved by the school and within the bounds
of good taste is to be worn. Facial piercing and visible tattoos are not
permitted. Alcohol or cigarette advertising is not permitted on clothing or
hats.
Other:
Students are allowed to wear:
- taonga around their necks
- TWO small studs or sleepers in each ear
- ONE flat ring (in total, NOT per hand).
- a small linked necklace chain with or without a small,
appropriate, cross or decoration.
- Boys should be clean shaven.
Students are NOT allowed:
- facial piercings e.g. nose studs, eyebrow studs and lip studs
- bracelets
- nail polish
- visible tattoos
- Black stockings, coloured or black socks with the summer uniform,
- Green knitted vests
Uniform Supplies:
The full range of uniform items is available from Lithgows Menswear and
Schoolwear, Riccarton Rd; Apparel Direct Marketing, Sandyford St; Direct
Uniform Suppliers, Colombo St. George Roy Ltd., Springston, will make the
boys' long trousers to order.
