Buses
The School Transport System for Lincoln High School is reviewed each
year.
The Ministry of Education provides transport assistance only for
those students who can satisfy all the following criteria:
attend the nearest secondary school
live more than 4.8 km from that school and more than 2.4 km
from a metropolitan bus service to that school.
In 2009 the Ministry will be operating all services for eligible
students whose nearest school is Lincoln High School and will
determine the routes based on location of homes.
For those students living outside the Lincoln High School bus
eligibility area, the school will provide services where possible,
on a user pays basis, and a flat fee for all students will be
charged. In some cases parents will be eligible to apply to the
Ministry of Education for a conveyance allowance. The allowance will
be paid direct to them by the Ministry if they are entitled to
transport assistance based on criteria determined by the Ministry.
In addition, many students use the public bus service run by
Christchurch Transport Ltd from Christchurch to Lincoln.
In the interests of all students, we expect a very high standard of
behaviour on buses. Senior students are appointed to supervise
students on buses.
Bursaries
Students who cannot take advantage of existing bus services, or who
are required to travel more than 2.4 km to reach a bus route, or who
have to live away from home to attend this school, may be eligible
for a Boarding or Travelling Bursary. Further information is
